Boards and Sustainability
Ed Lawler and Chris Worley had their piece "Why Boards Need to Change" featured in the Fall 2012 MITSloan Management Review online.
They draw a connection between creating companies that achieve the triple bottom line of financial, social and ecological sustainability and major changes in how corporate boards are constituted. Lawler and Worley note that it is only possible to effect major change in an organization when the top leadership is on board with creating a sustainably effective company.
