For the last 30 years, despite enormous change in technology, globalization, and customer requirements, executives and researchers have defined organizations as independent and relatively static systems--and have attended largely to strategy, structure, and the formal and informal processes that lie within the organization's boundary. CEO has begun a series of studies examining new ways of organizing with an eye to providing frameworks and models to help organizations become flexible and boundaryless.
