Strategic Partnership with Impact: Strategy Analysis for Organization and Human Resources

New York - October 27-29, 2008

"Where will talent and organization investments make the biggest difference to our strategic success?"

Research shows that most organizations lack a deep and logical understanding of how decisions about human capital, talent, and organization design and effectiveness connect to business and strategic success. Without tools to analyze and understand these connections, decisions are based on fads, fashions, or politics.

In this highly interactive seminar, you will develop that deep, logical understanding through a proven approach that analyzes business strategy and discover specific, actionable implications for your talent and organization that provide clear strategic results. Instructors John Boudreau and Pete Ramstad will introduce you to a proven framework and unique "decision science" for talent that are featured in their book Beyond HR (Harvard Business School Publishing).

Learn to:

  • Utilize the framework to analyze your own organizational strategy at all levels
  • Uncover hidden pivot-points where your HR and talent management will make their biggest strategic contribution
  • Identify "lenses" that reveal where talent and organization decisions most affect strategic and business success
  • Apply a proprietary array of rigorous and practical tools to your organization that have been successfully used by companies such as Allstate, Corning, Deluxe, Microsoft, Northrup Grumman, PepsiCo, and Toro
  • Leverage other organizations' discoveries and best practices through discussion and break-out work with other seminar participants

This seminar provides a unique focus that integrates business strategy, HR strategy, and talent and organization implications. It is based on leading research in strategy, economics, organizational behavior, and psychology. Key tools and processes were developed by Boudreau and Ramstad from ten years of research, application, and work with leading organizations.
