Seminars
The HR Emerging Executive (THREE)
Oak Brook, IL (Chicago area)
at McDonald's Hamburger University
June 27-29, 2012
With Ian Ziskin (CEO)
Guest Speakers: John Boudreau, (CEO), and Rich Floersch (McDonald's)
Including a CHRO panel discussion between Richard Antoine (Retired Global Human Resources Officer, Procter & Gamble), Steve Fussell (Senior Vice President HR, Abbott), Jill Smart (Chief Human Resources Officer, Accenture), and Marc Ugol (Chief Human Resources Officer - Bechtel Corporation).
THREE is designed to explore three critical and complementary aspects of HR Leadership:
- the leadership philosophy and behaviors required for success
- the changing role HR leaders must play to make people and organizations more effective
- the future of HR and effective organizations
This program is unique in that it will examine the interplay between leadership and HR competencies for high potential leaders who are developing these capabilities during the formative stages of their careers, prior to assuming executive-level roles.
Participants focus on their emerging personal approach to leadership, identify strengths and areas for development, and put together a personal leadership profile. In addition, they are exposed to the latest thinking and insights on the emerging role and priorities of HR leaders, and identify tools and techniques to prepare for more senior HR roles over the course of their careers.
Format
Participants will experience a highly interactive learning approach combining storytelling, mini-lectures and discussions, a case study "competition," peer coaching, team assignments, self-assessments, and one-on-one coaching. The program consists of pre-program work, a 3-day in-residence session, and post-program work.
One-on-One Coaching
Each person will have a follow-up telephone coaching session with Ian Ziskin within weeks following the in-residence learning session. This coaching session will be used for program participants to further explore content, feedback, development needs, and questions raised during the in-residence program, and to discuss potential personal development plan actions and next steps. Each coaching discussion will be customized to the individual participant's needs and interests.
Target Audience
THREE is specifically targeted for high-performing, emerging HR leaders at the senior manager and/or director levels, as well as individuals who have significant business experience but are relatively new to HR. We intend to bring the best and brightest HR up-and-comers together for a powerful and practical learning experience.
Speakers
Ian Ziskin serves as Program Leader of THREE. He is Executive in Residence, Center for Effective Organizations; President, EXec EXcel Group; and former CHRO of Northrop Grumman and Qwest Communications. He understands the challenges faced by today's HR professionals because he's been there himself. As a leader who has served in senior HR positions and developed countless HR executives, Ian brings a deep knowledge base about what it takes to achieve executive-level HR leadership in today's changing landscape.
THREE's program faculty also features John Boudreau, the highly experienced academic, author, and consultant who is Professor of Management and Research Director at the USC Center for Effective Organizations as well as Rich Floersch, Executive Vice President and Chief HR Officer of McDonald's, who is hosting the program.
In addition, the following CHROs are currently scheduled to appear on a panel - Steve Fussell (SVP HR, Abbott), Jill Smart (Accenture), Marc Ugol (Chief Human Resources Officer - Bechtel Corporation), and Richard Antoine (Retired Global Human Resources Officer, Procter & Gamble).
