Working Paper
Looking Backward and Forward at Action Research
This article responds to commentaries on a set of action research studies that appeared in a special issue of Human Relations. It reexamines the contributions of the articles, considers the ways in which practitioners may be co-researchers in action research studies, and reviews the implications of the case studies for organizational change. Finally, it examines the methodological and epistemological issues raised by the special issue and the commentaries.
