Benjamin Schneider (CEO) selected the winner of the 2017 Walker Prize

February 14, 2018

In 1997, HR People + Strategy established the Walker Prize to honor the seminal work of its founder and guiding spirit, James W. Walker. The award celebrates the tradition of vision, quality, and innovation best exemplified by Jim Walker. It is awarded annually to the article or commentary published in the People + Strategy journal that best advances state-of-the-art thinking or practices in human resources.

We are delighted to announce that Ben Schneider of the Center for Effective Organizations has been selected as the winner of the 2017 Walker Prize (honoring the best paper) for his article “How Companies Can Really Impact Service Quality” in the SHRM publication called People + Strategy. The article can be accessed here.

Each year, People + Strategy receives many manuscript submissions, of which we are only able to publish a select few. Each year the Editorial Board identifies a smaller number among the published articles from across the year as candidates for the Walker Prize. Ben’s work was deemed a real contribution to the Journal, Association, and to leaders everywhere who care about people and strategy.
