Optimizing the Operating Model Beyond COVID-19

November 4, 2020 - November 18, 2020

The Optimizing the Operating Model Workshop provides solutions to diagnosing the barriers to improved organizational performance with analytics, systems diagnostics and design thinking.

Specific applications to digital work transformation and digital product transformation will be featured. Applications for optimizing the operating model for current conditions under COVID-19 and for post-pandemic will be featured throughout the workshop.

The workshop provides a framework for optimizing business process design and the operating model. The improvements in diagnosis, measurement and analytics address sources of organizational under-performance that are rooted in the work design, competencies, and individual behaviors. Currently, COVID-19 poses a threat both to ongoing operations, and to maintaining sufficient focus on longer-term strategic priorities; the workshop provides a systematic framework for prioritizing both immediate and future capability building to strike the right balance.

This workshop provides a systematic approach to defining, measuring, aligning and improving the critical elements of the business operating model.

During the program you will:

  • Learn how to apply tools and techniques from analytics, end-to-end business process optimization, and design thinking to find root causes of organizational performance.
  • Dive deep into case studies from leading companies which demonstrate how to apply the tools and techniques.
  • Apply the tools and techniques to the specific issues of digital work transformation and digital product transformation. As a result, you will be able to better prioritize where leaders should make human capital investment and change management decisions, and improve how your organization navigates the turbulent waters of digital change.
  • Learn from senior executives who have led their current and previous organizations through the challenges of systematically improving strategy execution and operating model performance.
  • Each of the six sessions includes dedicated time to work through the participants’ short-term and longer-term challenges for optimizing the operating model under both COVID-19 and beyond

Who should attend:

  • Anyone leading organizational transformation work, operations leaders, OD professionals, HR business partners, people analytics professionals

“Love the tools. Love the conversations. Love the case studies and lessons learned as well as additional ways of learning.”

“Fantastic — thought provoking.”

“Very informative. Gave me great information I can reflect on and use.”

“The Optimizing the Operating Model workshop is an excellent complement to the Organization Design workshops. It helped me look differently at how to set the direction of an organization based on the brand strategy, then create surgical changes to the current structure to enable the system to follow the brand direction.”
