Jennifer Bennett is managing director and associate general counsel, leading the Global Subsidiary Corporate Governance Group in the Office of the Corporate Secretary of Bank of America Corporation. Bennett’s team of 27 attorneys, paralegals and support staff professionals provides legal advice, strategic guidance and governance support to the subsidiaries of Bank of American Corporation. Bennett joined the company in 1995, and, in prior roles, served as head of global legal support for Corporate Workplace, Vendor Management and Technology and Operations after providing support to various lines of business in the company’s Global Corporate and Investment Banking group. Bennett assumed the role of legal lead to the Merrill Lynch Legal Day 1 transition team just prior to joining the Office of the Corporate Secretary and won the Bank of America Award of Excellence for her work on transitions. Before joining Bank of America, Bennett was a corporate and securities attorney in private practice with Womble Bond Dickinson and clerked for the Chief Judge of the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Bennett received her bachelor’s degree in business administration and her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is licensed to practice law in North Carolina.
Bennett has served in numerous volunteer leadership roles with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
