Dr. Margarita Nyfoudi is an Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior at the University of Birmingham.
Dr. Margarita Nyfoudi’s research interests lie at the heart of management examining the ways in which line managers and HR departments can motivate, inspire, engage and develop employees and their teams to perform better and more effectively. Her aim is to help individuals and teams thrive and experience a more meaningful work life.
For the past 10 years, Margarita has collaborated with a diverse number of organizations to develop diagnostics and solutions that go beyond the surface and drive strategic priorities, including performance, innovation and well-being. Her expertise entails working closely with directors, heads of departments and line managers to develop customized tools and workshops that fit the context and the culture of each organization. Her partners/clients include large multinationals in industries such as manufacturing, consumer services, hospitality, and professional training. Current research projects include: coaching for team performance; coaching for creativity; coaching talent; joy and professional identity; employee communications and voice; and employees’ going the extra-mile despite adversity.
Margarita’s work has been presented at national and international peer-reviewed conferences, such as the Academy of Management, the British Academy of Management, the Global International HRM and the Dutch HRM Network Conference.
Margarita earned her BBA in Business Administration from University of Macedonia, Greece, and her MSc and Ph.D. in Human Resource Management from Aston University, UK. She co-chairs the British Academy of Management (BAM) Human Resource Management Special Interest Group, while she also has served (2011 to 2018) as an elected member of the BAM Council. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK and a CIPD Associate member.
