Aaron Wheeler joined Amgen as a Research & Development (R&D) Business Performance Manager in October 2021. In his role, he supports workforce strategy/change management, diversity, inclusion and belonging efforts, and project management. He is currently a member of the Representation in Clinical Research team a.k.a. RISE. Prior to this role he participated in Amgen’s Veteran Fellowship Program where he assisted the organization’s Centralized Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging team. Before joining Amgen, Aaron retired from the United States Army with over 20 years of service achieving the highest enlisted rank of Command Sergeant Major.

Aaron’s education includes a Master’s in Business Administration and an undergraduate degree in Healthcare Administration. He has attained several professional certifications in areas like: Equal Opportunity, Diversity, Resiliency, Project Management, and LEAN Six Sigma methodologies.

Outside of work Aaron spends a lot of his free time volunteering with various organizations. He is an active alumni member of Leadership Tampa, a program sponsored by the Tampa Chamber of Commerce. The program is designed to develop its members through educational sessions, tours, interactive and behind the scenes look at City of Tampa. Participants get the opportunity to have candid conversations with top-level business, civic, and government leaders. His hobbies are going to the gym, watching and attending sporting events, and travelling.
