Carlos Butler-Vale is the leader of the global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) function at Constellation Brands, Inc., a prominent international producer and marketer of beer, wine, and spirits with operations in several countries. Constellation Brands’ mission is centered around building beloved brands that foster human connections, and they consider DEI goals as critical to their future success. They prioritize diverse perspectives in decision-making to resonate with their diverse consumer base.
Before joining Constellation Brands, Carlos Butler-Vale held the position of Director of Diversity & Inclusion at McDonald’s, where he supported Latinx partnerships, oversaw global employee business networks, and led the US Diversity Council. He also played a key role in developing McDonald’s global DEI strategy. Prior to that, he served as Global Inclusion & Diversity Program Manager at Groupon, where he focused on diversity recruitment, employee engagement, and multicultural outreach.
Carlos Butler-Vale has been recognized for his efforts in promoting diversity and inclusion, including being named a 40 Under 40 Latino in Chicago and one of the Top 100 Under 50 Emerging Leaders by Diversity MBA. He has been actively involved in various organizations and initiatives related to DEI, such as ALPFA, the Illinois Technology Foundation, and the Illinois Diversity Council.
Butler-Vale is a Senior Certified Professional through the Society of Human Resource Management, has earned a certificate in Human Resources from Northwestern University and a certificate in Change Management from the Human Capital Institute, holds an MBA in Management and Human Resources, and served as the co-chair of the George Washington University Alumni Association network in Chicago for six years, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in International Affairs.
