People Analytics has made great strides in the world of HR, rapidly becoming a core capability that most CHROs feel they cannot do without. Yet even as organizations continue to build greater people analytics capability, the field struggles to find the best ways to engage with the business and other parts of HR.
To provide the greatest value possible, most people analytics professionals are focusing on becoming world class analytics partners for HR and the business. This includes being expert at working with data, doing cutting edge analysis, visualizing and storytelling around data, building robust data warehouses and meeting regularly with HR and the business to better understand issues they can help address. And yet they continue to struggle with doing work that has maximum engagement and impact with the business.
The one area of opportunity that has been not been part of the equation is organizational development (OD). Both analytics and OD are core capabilities of any strategic HR function, and yet are treated as totally non-overlapping: you either do analytics, or you do OD, but never both. And that may be the source of the problem for analytics gaining greater traction.
Rather than two fundamentally different disciplines, analytics and OD share many of the same principles and objectives. What differs are the approach and execution – OD tools and processes may be the key for people analytics getting to up its game.
In this webinar Alec Levenson will explore how people analytics can start to embrace the strengths of OD for improved engagement and impact with the business.
