Team Effectiveness

CEO has conducted extensive research that identifies the critical factors that promote team effectiveness. It has focused on the design and management of cross functional teams, the creation of team-based organizations, teaming in knowledge work settings, virtual teaming, the design and evolution of self-managing teams, and the effectiveness of top management teams. Current research focuses on the conditions necessary for effective teaming in knowledge work settings characterized by dynamic work teams, and specifically is examining the levers to link teaming more directly to both the business imperatives of the firm and to its talent management requirements. The Center’s top management team research currently is exploring the dynamics of decision-making, conflict, and communication, especially when these processes involve the relationship between CEOs and their direct reports.
